Adelaide L. Sperduto

Feb 9, 1927 — Jun 22, 2026

Adelaide L. Sperduto ("Wee"), age 99, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026. Born on February 9, 1927, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late James F. Minnaugh and Adelaide O'Brien Minnaugh.

Adelaide spent much of her life in Erie and Waterford, Pennsylvania. She graduated from St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing, earning her Registered Nurse (RN) degree. Together with her beloved husband, Carl, she shared 58 years of marriage and raised nine children, creating a home centered on faith, family, and service.

A devoted member of St. Paul's Church, Adelaide generously volunteered her time and talents to numerous parish activities. She chaired the Bingo kitchen and worked the cookie booth at the Italian Festival for many years, among many other volunteer efforts. Later in life, she returned to her nursing profession, working at Sarah Reed Assisted Living, where she also spent the last six years of her life as a resident.

Adelaide was preceded in death by her husband, Carl A. Sperduto; her sons, Richard A. Sperduto and Michael A. Sperduto; her daughter, Judith (Sperduto) Kirkpatrick; her son-in-law, Michael Kirkpatrick; her daughter, Barbara (Sperduto) Rossman; her sisters, Mary Hanlin, Judith Bird; and her brother, Michael Minnaugh.

She is survived by her sister, Beatrice Natalie, Erie, Pennsylvania, her daughters, Theresa Sperduto of Tucson, Arizona; Margaret Mantsch and her husband, Jeff, of Bradford, Pennsylvania; Jeanne Edwards of Erie, Pennsylvania; and Mary Anne Martone and her husband, Anthony ("Marty"), of Thousand Oaks, California. She is also survived by her sons, Louis Sperduto and his wife, Pati, of North Port, Florida, and Carl F. Sperduto and his fiancée, Brenda Certner, of Bethesda, Maryland; and by her son-in-law, Edward Rossman of Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania.

In addition, Adelaide leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride throughout her life.

Adelaide was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers. She loved reading mystery novels and completing her daily crossword puzzles-always in pen, because she was just that good.

She will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her strong faith, her generous spirit, and the warmth, humor, and kindness she shared with everyone who knew and loved her.
