Anthony J. Valerio

Anthony J. “Tony” Valerio, age 88, of 1421 West 41st Street, died Friday, March 30, 2007 at Millcreek Community Hospital.

He was born July 16, 1918 in Erie, a son of the late Gaetano and Mary Mezzacappo Valerio. He lived in Erie his entire life. He worked at Bucyrus Erie for 38 years, retiring in 1980.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Antonette C. Valerio and his second wife, Janet C. Valerio; two brothers, Julio and Vincent Valerio; one sister, Victoria Valerio and a daughter-in-law, Charlene Valerio.

He is survived by four sons, Gary Valerio, Douglas Valerio and his wife Mary Ellen, Kenneth Valerio and his wife Deborah and David Valerio and his wife Carolyn and two sisters, Ann Angelo and Rose Klie all of Erie. He is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, an Independent Care Group Affiliate, on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a Service there on Monday at 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint George Church, 5145 Peach Street, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Charity of One’s Choice.
