Anthony J. "Tony" Zonna, age 83, of Erie, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Brevillier Village, Ball Pavilion, following a short stay. He was born on July 3, 1939, in Erie, a son of the late Dominick and Carrie Presogna Zonna.

He was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School (Class of 1957) and Gannon University (Class of 1961). Tony was one of the founding fathers in the Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity (APD), Beta Rho Chapter. He worked as an accountant, manager in accounting and compliance with GE Transportation in Erie.

Tony lived in Erie his entire life, with the exception of his military service at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri (1961-1963). He was a retired Colonel in the USAR having commanded units in Erie and Farrell. He completed his military career at the United States 99th ARCOM in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as the Deputy Chief of Staff - Resource Management in 1992, where he was awarded the Legion of Merit for his service.

He was a deeply kind man, generous of spirit and always cheerful and happy. Family always came first for Tony. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren on a daily basis. Tony was a lifelong sports enthusiast, golfer and an avid New York Yankees fan. He was a member of the American Legion and a former member of the Lawrence Park Golf Club and Lake View Country Club.

Tony is survived by two sons, Craig Anthony Zonna and his wife Katherine Wardi-Zonna, and Robert John (RJ) Zonna, partner Gina Lesoski, all in Erie; two grandsons, Xavier C. Zonna and Quentin D. Zonna, children of Craig and Katherine; two granddaughters, Isabella C. Zonna and Giovana R. Zonna, children of RJ; and his Goddaughter Kathy Leonetti. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberley A. Zonna-Chamberlain.

Friends are invited to call on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1553 East Grandview Blvd, Erie, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, Erie, PA 16502. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Family Hospice Erie, 1700 Peach Street, Suite 244, Erie, PA 16501
