Carl F. Larese

March 11, 1959 — June 5, 2026

Carl F. Larese, 67, of Erie, passed away Friday, June 5, 2026 at his home. He was born March 11, 1959 in Erie, a son of the late John C. Larese, Sr. and Esther Angela (Bianco) Larese.

Carl spent his life dedicated to nurturing the beauty of both his floral creations and the vibrant arts community he cherished so deeply. As the founder and owner of Larese Floral Design, Inc. since 1999, Carl transformed not only flowers but also the lives of those around him with his unwavering passion and creativity. His work as a florist was but one aspect of his extraordinary contributions to our community.

Carl was a steadfast advocate for the arts, serving on the Board of Directors for the Drama Shop and Erie Homes for Children and Adults. He also served on the Board of Directors and held the position of President for the Erie Playhouse and the Giuseppe Mazzini Civic Association, where was awarded the Philanthropist of the Year Award in 2010.

In addition to his professional and civic accomplishments, Carl was a devoted volunteer, offering his time and support to the Neighborhood Art House and Emmaus Soup Kitchen, embodying the generous heart that so many admired.

Carl's zest for life was reflected in his love for travel. He embarked on numerous adventures, enjoying Caribbean and Mexican cruises and exploring the rich history and beauty of Europe.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marilynn Brown.

He is survived by his partner, Jim Cornell; son, Nicholas C. Larese; grandson, Logan Larese; sister, Rosanne Testi (Vern); and brother, John C. Larese, Jr.; brother-in-law, Don Brown; and former wife, Darlene DiNunzio. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.

Carl leaves behind a lasting legacy through his work, his community service, and the hearts he touched. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will forever remain in the vibrant blooms he so lovingly cultivated and in the artistic expressions he so passionately supported.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
