Charles V. Grizanti

Charles V. "Charlie" Grizanti, age 75, of Erie, died Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Elmwood Gardens after an extended illness. He was born November 30, 1938 in Westfield, NY, a son of the late James and Jenny Paternosh Grizanti.

He served in the United States Army in the 24th Quarter Master Company in Augsburg, Germany for 3 years and was part of the 24th Division Boxing Team.

Charles was an Ironworker for Local #348 and worked for Conrail and CXS for 30 years.

He enjoyed working on cars.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Sam and Vincent Grizanti.

He is survived by his wife Diane F. Hess Grizanti; three sons, Vincent Joseph Grizanti and fiancée Darcie Wethli, Vincent Charles Grizanti and Michael Grizanti; two step-daughters, Stephanie Sterling and fiancé Aaron Orlando and Pauline Majczyk and husband Michael; one sister, Betty Fiorenzo and husband Nello all of Erie and two brothers, Joseph Grizanti of Westfield, NY and Cosmo Grizanti and wife Patti of Erie. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Lilliana Grizanti, Amanda Grizanti and Jessica Grizanti, Joey Turick, Erica Kudlak, Nicholas Sterling and Aaron Orlando and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc. 2122 Raspberry Street, on Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 until the time of the Funeral Service there at 8:30 p.m.. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home. Charles's family would like to the thank the staff at Elmwood Gardens for all their loving care.
