Charlotte Voss Shultz, age 86, of Erie went to be with her Lord and Savior, on December 16, 2015, in Richmond, VA, after a brief battle with brain cancer. She was born on April 24, 1929, in Erie, a daughter of the late George and Daisy Voss.

Charlotte was a proud graduate of East High School (class of 1946) and received her B.A. in Education from Mercyhurst College. She spent her entire career teaching the fourth grade, in the School District of the City of Erie, at Irving Elementary School. She retired with 42 years of service. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (PASR).

Charlotte was a lifelong member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church where she was an ordained deacon and elder. She also taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, played handbells, directed the Junior Choir and was member of Presbyterian Women. She was the founder of Eastminster's Day Camp and served as its dedicated director for 54 years. Through Day Camp, Charlotte helped to spread the love, mercy, and life-giving salvation of Jesus to thousands of children. Charlotte loved her friends, laughter, music, the Outer Banks and Peanuts, especially Snoopy.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Ralph E. Shultz. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Huffer and her husband, Randy of Midlothian, VA; along with her two beloved granddaughters Kelsey Huffer of Fairfax, VA and Linsdey Huffer of Richmond, VA. She always referred to them as "My Kelsey" and "My Lindsey". In addition, she is survived by her beloved sister, Elaine Glass (Richard), her nephews, Timothy Glass (Peggy) and Matthew Glass (Kelley), all of Erie. She is further survived by several great nieces and nephews and special cousins Theodore Edmonds of Lewisburg, PA and Beverly Potts of Erie.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a funeral service on Monday at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 2320 East Lake Road, Erie, PA 16511, at 10 am. Burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of Eastminster Presbyterian Church.
