Christian Jensen

August 10, 1942 — August 7, 2025

Christian Robert "Papa Chris" Jensen, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025. He was born on August 10, 1942 in Erie, a son of the late Christ and Virginia (O'Neil) Jensen.

We cannot express just how much of a loss the passing of Christian Robert Jensen, our "Papa", truly is to us. He carried a heart so full of love, it burst at the seams. A man full of life, who always cracked a sassy joke to make himself and anybody else laugh. His burning desire for mischief and amusement will be unmatched and hugely missed by all who know him. We must also mention his exceptional "Big-Foot call" which was, without question, the best one in the state of Pennsylvania. Papa Chris grew up on the bay in a boathouse, taking immense pride in being a "Bayrat". He insisted his family share his pride, even printing BAYRAT stickers for our phones, laptops, and sketchbooks. His Erie roots made him exceptionally proud. We have never met anybody prouder to be from Erie than he was.

Cars were a constant passion in his life. Doubling as both a mentor and friend to many in the Erie car scene meant the world to him. At his successful Corvette paint and detailing business, Special Interest Cars, located in Millcreek , he could showcase his exceptional talents and craft the most exquisite pinstripes. He adored sharing this passion with all of us.

Chris was married to Kathy Kaminski. Kathy gave Chris his greatest gifts - his children. Residing 30 years in Fairview, he loved having his family in the Fairview School District, and being a "Fairview Tagger". As a grandfather, the words, "I'm so proud of you" were on repeat whether it was music, fine arts, soccer, swimming, or martial arts. He also cherished the time he spent at Basement Transmissions, working the snack bar and talking with all the kids. To say he left a lasting impact, is an understatement. Above all, Papa Chris was proud to be a father and grandfather, that much is undeniable. We take comfort in knowing he is now at peace with his parents.

He is survived by his three children, Gretchen Jensen (Justin Desko), J.R.(Kimberly) Jensen, and Robert "Bob" Jensen; his grandchildren, Kylie Robbins, Michael Cash, and Xiola, Zamora, Merrikate and Finn Jensen; and his sisters, Diane (Chuck) Komisarski and Susan Jensen. He is further survived by the Komisarski nieces and nephews, including his Godson, Christian.
