Clarence Samual Luke, 87, of Erie, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Millcreek Community Hospital.

He was born December 5, 1930 in Erie, a son of the late Neil S. and Pauline Buhl Luke.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post #285.

Clarence worked for the United States Postal Service for 30 years, retiring in 1986 and enjoyed 32 years of retirement.

Clarence was an usher at Saint George Church. He enjoyed gardening, bocce, hunting, fishing and working in his garage. But most of all spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his two sisters Gertrude Pongratz and Beatrice Wheeler, and brother Neil R. Luke; daughter-in-law Lynne Luke; and dear friend Jean Yezzi.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Ann Viveralli Luke; three daughters, Laura Luke of Largo, FL, Doreen Marie Gray (Dale) of Waterford, PA and Anna Marie Falletta-Alexander (John) of Erie; one son, Jeffrey Joseph Luke (Dawn) of Waterford, PA; brother-in-law, Howard Wheeler of Erie; nine grandchildren, Anthony, David, Alicia, Jesse, Danielle, Julia, Kim, Jana and Paula; and 2 great-grandchildren, Jason Jr. and Oliver. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and dear friend, Billy Yezzi of Erie.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. may attend a Service there on Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint George Church, 5145 Peach Street, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Clarence's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Edward E. Janus, Dr. William Esper, Dr. Kevin Mikielski, and the nurses and aides of Millcreek Community Hospital for their loving care
