Clino Fratarcangeli Jr

Clino Fratarcangeli Jr., age 83, of Erie, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023 at UPMC Hamot Hospital. He was born on May 1, 1940 in Erie, a son of the late Clino Fratarcangeli Sr. and Florence (LaRiccia) Fratarcangeli who both came from Italy and settled in Erie.

Clino graduated from Strong Vincent High School, then proudly served in the United States Airforce.  After his active-duty service, he returned to Erie, married his love, began working for GTE, and moved his young family from just outside of Erie's "Little Italy" neighborhood to Millcreek.  Retiring early, Clino enjoyed golf, fishing, biking, beach-going, working around his property, delicious meals at local Italian restaurants and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers & the NY Yankees.  But what he loved more than any of those things was his family and any opportunity to spend time together.  Although Clino battled CHF, he stayed strong, vibrant, active and independent until the end when he departed here to spend eternity with his wife, Susan, in the presence of their Savior.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susan (Wells) Fratarcangeli; two brothers, Alfonso and Victor Fratarcangeli; and three sisters, Antoinette Necci, Mary Lestorti, and Delores DeLuca.

He is survived by his three children, Stephen A. Fratarcangeli and his wife Laurie, Julie R. Ninkovic and her husband Serg, and John E. Fratarcangeli; four grandchildren, Stefan, Mia, Harper and Joleen; one sister, Elma Christopher; and his brother-in-law, William Wells and his wife Susan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday, August 24, from 3:00  to 7:00 p.m., and may attend a service there on Friday, August 25, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul Church, 1617 Walnut Street, Erie, PA 16502, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
