Cynthia M. Christopher, 66, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Sarah Reed Senior Living. She was born January 23, 1959 in Erie, a daughter of the late Alex "Gene" and Elma (Fratarcangeli) Christopher.
Cynthia was a proud graduate of Tech Memorial High School before furthering her education at the Columbus College of Art and Design, where she earned her Master of Fine Arts degree. Her passion for art led her to serve as an Art Teacher for the Erie School District, where she dedicated her days to nurturing the creativity of her students. Her time at the Erie Art Museum enriched her professional journey and allowed her to share her love for art with the community.
A remarkable artist in her own right, Cynthia's creativity flourished, culminating in her selection to design and paint the vibrant "Fish Kiss" as part of the GoFish public art project in 2001. Her studio was often filled with canvases depicting her deep connection to the world around her, and she generously gifted her paintings to family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of beauty and inspiration.
Cynthia embodied a big-hearted spirit and an unforgettable personality. Her love of cooking and her flair for hosting family dinners and gatherings created countless cherished memories.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Terrance A. Christopher and sister-in-law, Shellie Patterson.
She is survived by two nieces, Ashley Martinson and Alexandra Christopher; nine great-nieces and nephews, Makayla (Jalen), Nideliana, Malachi, Malcolm, Torriaun, Dianelis, Terrance, Raielle, and Ja'khi; and many cousins.
