David J. Milano

David J. Milano, 76, of Erie, passed away Friday, December 18, 2020 after a lengthy illness at Saint Mary's at Asbury Ridge. He was born April 27, 1944 in Erie, a son of the late Anthony and Helen Fields Milano.

David attended General McLane High School. After graduation, he began working full-time for his uncles at Milano Construction as a heavy equipment operator. In 1976, he started his own company, C. Milano Excavating and worked there with his two sons until his retirement.

He also loved working on cars when he was young and always had a "Fast Car" including his Dodge Challenger that he owned until his final day.

David loved spending time with his family and friends and was generous with his time and talents with all of them.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carla Houpt Milano in 2019, a sister, Jeanie Taylor and a brother, Robert Milano.

He leaves behind his three children, Michael Milano, Christopher Milano and Jennifer Milano Burns (Keith); six grandchildren, David A. Milano, Michael J. Milano, Nicholas Milano (Randi), Mitchell Milano, Nathaniel Milano, and Andrew Burns; and three great-grandchildren, Marco, Easton and Cruz Milano. He is also survived by two sisters, Geraldine Hammond and Carole Cacchione; one brother, Richard Milano and many nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions services will be private. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. A Celebration of David's life will be held at a later date. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry St., is handling arrangements. To send condolences visit www.orlandofuneralhome.com
