Deborah "Debbie" A. Phillips, age 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at Sarah Reed Senior Living. She was born on April 1, 1952 in Erie, a daughter of the late Douglas and Sandy (DiSalvo) Phillips.
Debbie retired from Pleasant Ridge Manor where she enjoyed a career as a Nurse's Aide. She was very dedicated to her work and was loved by those who she cared for. After work, she loved unwinding at Chico's Tavern with a cold beer and a few rounds of pool with friends. Summers were spent at the beach with her family-some of her favorite moments. She also enjoyed hosting gatherings at her pool, bringing loved ones together for food, laughter, and good company. A fan of garage sales, she took joy in finding hidden treasures and refinishing furniture to give them new life. Christmas Eve held a special place in her heart; she especially loved singing carols and sharing the "unique" ornaments she handcrafted over the years. But more than anything, her heart belonged to her family-especially her children and grandchildren, who meant the world to her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Michael Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Laurie (Tom) Twohig; her son, Thomas (Karla) Phillips, Jr.; her sisters, Nina (Bob) Thompson and Evelyn Smith; her brother, Angelo (Rhonda) Phillips; and her grandchildren, Tommy (Jen Natalie), Sydney, Addison and Logan Twohig, Tyler (Kira Hillhouse), Tanner and Katelynn Phillips. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, August 1, 2025 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, 2122 Raspberry Street, and are invited to a Funeral Mass on Saturday August 2, 2025 at Saint Paul Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 10 a.m. Because of Debbie's great love for all animals, memorials may be made to the ANNA Shelter, 1555 East 10th St., Erie, PA 16511.
