Dolores J. Corsi

Dolores J. "Dolly" Corsi, age 83, passed away after an extended illness on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Saint Vincent Hospital. She was born on March 27, 1940 in Erie, the first born daughter of the late Frank and Josephine Danowski Kowalski.

Dolly was a graduate of Saint Benedict Academy, Class of 1958. She worked at Gannon University as a secretary in the Office of the President. She also worked at the Erie Historical Museum and the Gannon Library, retiring in 2012.

Dolly was a devoted wife, a proud mother of three loving sons and an adoring Grandma to her one and only grandchild. She was an avid caretaker of her garden and an excellent cook of both Italian and Polish cuisines. She loved to bake, especially cookies, with her precious granddaughter. As the matriarch of the family, she took pride in making family celebrations special; the holidays, especially Christmas, were her favorite. She was a lifelong learner who enjoyed sewing her own outfits, crafting items for the Sacred Heart Christmas Fair and reading and taking notes on thousands of books. She took great pride in collecting antiques which involved adding to and maintaining her extensive doll collection.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Patrick Cahill, sisters-in-law, Joan (Corsi) Wagner, Theresa (Corsi) DiLoreto and her cousin's husband Andy Negro.

Dolly is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Ronald L. Corsi; her sons, Darren R. Corsi (Kathleen Gausman), Craig M. Corsi (Julie), and Kyle M. Corsi; her granddaughter, Gianna Corsi; her sisters, Geraldine "Gerry" Cahill and Bernadette "Bernie" McKechnie; and her cousin, Dorothy Negro. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as lifelong friends, Millie Krainski and Terri Noonan.

Friends are invited to call on Monday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street and may attend a service there on Tuesday at 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Paul Catholic Church, 1617 Walnut Street. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Benedictine Sisters of Erie. (www.eriebenedictines.org)
