Donald E. McCollim, 81, of Erie Pennsylvania, passed away on September 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends. He was born on July 26th, 1945 in Kittanning, Pennsylvania but lived most of his adult life in Coral Springs, Florida, and Erie, Pennsylvania.
He lived a life centered around family, friends, hard work, and fun. Don spent his career as a software developer, a profession he was very proud of, but his greatest joy was always his family. He shared nearly 55 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Debbie, whom he married on November 13th, 1971. Together, they built a life full of laughter, love, and memories. He was a dedicated father to David and Darren, coaching their soccer teams and supporting them in wrestling and whatever they did in life.
An avid softball player throughout his life, Don brought energy and fun everywhere he went. He had a gift for making people laugh and was always ready to bring a party to life. He was, as those close to him said, a great husband, a great father, a great uncle, and simply a great man. He also loved his dogs dearly. They were constant companions who brought him joy.
Don is survived by his loving wife Debbie, his sons David and Darren (Sandy Carroll), his granddaughter Jordyn, his brother Ray, and his sister Doris Jean.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul McCollim and Nellie Roofner McCollim and his oldest brother, Fred.
At Don's request, there will be no formal service. His family will honor him privately by sharing stories and memories of a life well lived. He will be deeply missed. But the joy, the laughter, and the love he brought into the lives of those around him will remain always.
