Donna Jean Franz

Donna Jean Franz, 81, of Waterford, passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by family telling her how deeply she is loved on Monday, October 26th. She was born on October 21, 1945 in St. Mary's, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Lucille Young. 

Donna devoted her life to caring for others in every capacity possible. She dedicated decades to her nursing career, tending to patients and families with a compassionate heart and an eye for the details. Donna was the matriarch of a large family, hosting wonderful celebrations, commanding an abundant kitchen, and ensuring everyone had a comfortable place to sleep and a full belly when they stayed in her beautiful home. She welcomed so many to visit and enjoy the land she tended with Robert. She truly mothered everyone she encountered with a rare tenderness and warmth. Donna was a diligent scrapbooker, documenting the stories of her beloved family and crafting comprehensive archives for generations to come. She enjoyed playing dominoes, making ornate cards to send to those she loved, and going out for boat rides. In her later years, she could always be found holding Robert's hand. 

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by Beulah Young, Eileen Franz, Robert Conrad Franz, and Kathy Ann Franz.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Robert Franz, her adored children, Jill Lent, Elizabeth Ritter, Carl Franz, and Johnny Franz, and her beloved grandchildren, Ashley Chisholm, Nicole Franz, Zach Ritter, Austin Lent, McKenna Ritter, Julianna Ritter, Tye Beck, and Tucker Beck. 

Funeral services are private and being handled by the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street.
