Dorothy Radecki Iacovetta, 93, of Erie, died Saturday, December 16, 2017 at UPMC Hamot after a brief illness. Dorothy had lived with her husband, Alfred Iacovetta, until his death in April 2010, for more than 40 years at 3225 Schaper Avenue, Erie and more recently, she resided at Niagara Village. Born in Erie, January 30, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Edmond and Eleanor Radecki.

Dorothy was a wonderful and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to be with family, and especially enjoyed spending time and playing with her grandchildren and more recently, great-grandchildren. She was a frequent traveler, often visiting family in Arizona and California, and also enjoyed the Casino in Erie and joining friends on fun trips to Las Vegas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Iacovetta, a sister, Jean Radecki Kubacki, brothers, Joseph Radecki, Bernard Radecki and Edward Radecki , and Donald Radecki.

Survivors already missing her include a sister, Eleanor Niedzielski of Erie, two daughters, Barbara Ferrare (Jamie) of Tucson, AZ and Linda Iacovetta (Philip Privitelli) of San Francisco, CA, one son, Frank Iacovetta (Cindy) of Erie. Six grandchildren, Erin Ferrare, Joseph Ferrare, Philip Privitelli, Paolo Privitelli, Kaley Iacovetta, and Briana Iacovetta. Two great-grandchildren, Sloane Raub and Harrison Raub.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and may attend a service there on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul Catholic Church, 1617 Walnut at 10:00 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Upper Room Homeless Shelter of Erie, 1024 Peach St., Erie, PA 16501 or Saint Paul Church 1617 Walnut St., Erie, PA 16502.
