Elizabeth A. Mennini Gigliotti

Elizabeth "Betty" A. Mennini Gigliotti, 72, of Erie, passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 6, 1943 in Erie, the daughter of the late Paolo and Pia Serafini Mennini

Betty was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School Class of 1962. She was a retired machine operator for Erisco Industries of Erie, PA.

She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. Betty loved going out for meals with her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, solving crossword puzzles, watching cooking shows and crocheting scarves for family and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul A. and Richard J. Mennini and a niece, Stacy Mennini Pieri.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Gigliotti, Erie; a sister, Dolores Meeker, Erie; a brother, Donald Mennini, GA. She is further survived by her step-son, Frank (Gretchen) Gigliotti, Erie; step-daughter, Kimberly Gigliotti, TX; nephews, Richard D. Mennini (Julie) Erie, Jeffrey Mennini (Shelly) Harborcreek, William Meeker (Karen) Erie; nieces, Jackie Mennini Pesi (fiancé David Rahn) Erie, Kimberly Mennini Lane, GA, Leslie Mennini Masi (Jay) FL, and Jennifer Mennini Madden, GA; and several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many great-nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. and may attend a Funeral Mass on Friday at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1626 West 26th Street, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Regional Cancer Center, 2500 West 12th Street, Erie, PA 16505 or to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
