Frances Griesacker

Frances "Kay" Griesacker, age 88, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at UPMC Hamot. She was born on September 25, 1935, a daughter of the late Frances and Lucille Stahlman White.

Kay was a graduate of Geneva College and earned her Master's in English from Penn State University. She was a high school English teacher before moving on to raise her family. Kay was a gifted artist and loved to paint. She loved flowers, taking long walks outside, watching the Hallmark Channel on television, and enjoyed her friends from the Christian Fellowship.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Krista Griesacker; and her sister, Dolores Yelm.

Kay is survived by Paul B. Griesacker, who was a loving husband and devoted father; her loving children, Ann M. Griesacker, Paula M. Griesacker, Robert P. Griesacker (Anna), William F. Griesacker (Denise), Michael W. Griesacker (Anna-Jeannine), James C. Griesacker, and Paul J. Griesacker (Eleni); her grandchildren, Kristen, Andy, Alexandra, Erin, Alexis, Andrew, Grant, Jessica, Matthew, Joseph, Dallas, Christopher, Ivy, Thea, and Jacob; and her great-grandchildren, Alice, Ella, Lucy, and Nolan. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, 2122 Raspberry Street, and may attend a service there on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 816 West 26th Street, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
