Frank S. Brodict, age 95, of Erie, died Monday March 11, 2013 at UPMC Hamot after a brief illness. He was born October 12, 1917 in Charleroi, PA, a son of the late William "Blaze" and Frances Gecan Brodict.

He served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post #22.

He worked as a fireman for the City of Erie from July 16, 1952 until January 3, 1976. He was a devout Catholic.

Frank was an avid Notre Dame Football , Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. He was loved by everyone.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, A. Wilma Slebodnik Brodict; second wife, Marceil Williams Brodict and seven brothers and sisters.

He is survived by three daughters, Christine A. Leone and husband Frank of Chicago, IL, Mary F. Fiorenzo and husband John of Erie and Janice L. Fresia and husband Rick of Phoenix, AZ and seven grandchildren, Susan Schissler and husband Joe, Laura Weidaw and husband Tom, Kevin Fiorenzo, Emily Fiorenzo Berarducci and husband Aaron "Ron", Matthew Fresia, Hannah Fresia and Molly Fresia. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Abbey, Ryan, Mallory and Jack and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at Saint Mary's at Asbury Ridge, 4855 West Ridge Road, on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass there at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela, PA. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Saint Mary's at Asbury Ridge, 4855 West Ridge Rd., Erie, PA 16506. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, is handling arrangements.
