Gulio A. Ferrante

Gulio A. Ferrante passed away peacefully at Pleasant Ridge Manor on Friday, April 17, 2026, just nine days after celebrating his 95th birthday. He was born on April 8, 1931 in Erie, a son of the late Domenico and Assunta (Iaboni) Ferrante.
Gulio was a dedicated and hardworking man who was employed throughout his life at Lovell Manufacturing, Lord Corporation, and Zurn Industries. He was a proud member of Erie's deaf community, where he formed lasting connections and friendships. An avid traveler, Gulio explored the world, enjoying trips to Europe and even visiting the Great Wall of China. Known for his playful sense of humor, he delighted in making others smile. Above all, Gulio cherished his family, who remained the center of his life and his greatest source of pride.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving companion, Iva Kopich; an infant daughter; his grandson, Dylan Ferrante; and his siblings, Alfonso and Armand Ferrante, Yolanda Coletta, Mary Iaboni, Angelina Felice, and Philomena Stitt.
He is survived by his sons, Randall Ferrante, Terry Ferrante (Tammi), Timothy Ferrante (Victoria), and Rody Ferrante (Jamie); and his grandchildren, Krista Ferrante (Michael Walsh), Anthony Ferrante (Aimee), Kayla Shields (Brandon), Kelsey Zebrowski (Michael), Craig Ferrante (Leah Perkins), Nicholas, Adrianna, Aelita, Lauren, and Emma Ferrante. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren; his former wife and friend, Shirley Ferrante; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, 2122 Raspberry St. on Wednesday, April 22, from 3 p.m. until the Funeral Service there at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ALS Association (www.als.org).
