Heidi Ann Hansen Smith

Heidi Ann Hansen Smith, age 59, formerly of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at The Orchards at Wayne, in Wayne, Michigan. She was born on April 1, 1964 in Erie, a daughter of Nancy Zehe Hansen and the late Robert D. Hansen.

She attended Academy High School and went on graduate from J.H. Thompson Barber Academy. She owned and operated her own Barber shop in Erie for many years. She later relocated to Virginia and became a correctional officer. She was very good at building and fixing things and loved gardening. She was loved by her family and friends.

She is survived by her partner of many years, Daniel Attard; her mother, Nancy Hansen; her siblings, Theresa McKay (Bob), Patricia Azevedo, Jeffrey Hansen (Melissa), and Clint Hansen; and her best friend, Mindy Dunn. She also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service at Erie Cemetery (Section P) on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 11 a.m. Arrangements are being handled by the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, Erie. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
