Helen M. Sauerwine Bernardini

Helen M. Sauerwine Bernardini, age 82, of Erie, died unexpectedly Thursday, February 13, 2014 at her residence. She was born December 24, 1931 in Conneaut, OH, a daughter of the late Charles H. and Geraldine Bryant Sauerwine. She lived in Erie most of her life.

Helen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother She enjoyed spending time with her family, was an excellent cook, and avid knitter and traveler.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy R. "Moose" Bernardini and her sister, Marcella Heitzenrater.

She is survived by her daughter, Sue Luciano of Erie; two sons, Peter R. Bernardini and wife Sue of Erie and Michael J. Bernardini and wife Ann of Girard; one sister, Carol Giannelli of Erie and eight grandchildren, Heather Stoddard and husband Dan, Joe Luciano and wife Kelli, Jon Luciano and wife Jenn, Sandy Hackweder and husband Eric, Jennifer DeGroff and husband Jamie, Craig Wilczynski and wife Becky, Jaime Musone and husband Steve and Nathan Ward. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild and two nephews, George Bernardini and wife Donna of Wattsburg, PA and Billy Bernardini of Atlanta, GA.

Friends are invited to call at the John R.
