Jane Rogers

Jane M. (Carney) Rogers, 88, of Mars, PA, passed away peacefully, Friday, August 8, 2025 with her loving family at her side. Jane grew up in Erie, PA, a daughter of the late William and Rosella (McNulty) Carney.

Jane was a graduate of Villa Maria Academy Class of 1954 and of Villa Maria College Class of 1958 where she earned a BSN.

Immediately following graduation, Jane was asked to teach other nursing students. She had a long impactful career as a nurse until her retirement as a nurse manager at the Visiting Nurses Association. Jane also volunteered at Family Resources Parents Anonymous where she assisted in helping parents with child abuse problems.

In 2008 at the age of 70, Jane attended and graduated from the Bidwell Training Center with a diploma in Office Technology and received the Perfect Attendance Award. She was hired as an Administrative Assistant to the CEO immediately following graduation.

In her senior years, Jane resided in Concordia of Cranberry where she was much loved and respected by patients and caregivers. She was known to have a smile and kind word for everyone she encountered.

Jane's children were the love that guided her days and gave her life it's deepest meaning.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Carney; her son, Charles Rogers, Jr., and her former husband, Dave Rogers.

She is survived by her four daughters, Lynne Downs (John), Kathleen Schawalder (Scott), Elizabeth Trautman (Jason), and Patricia Sharp (Tom). In addition to her children, she is survived by her grandchildren, David and Elizabeth Rogers, Claire Schawalder, Jacob and Joshua Trautman, and Katelyn and Megan Sharp.

Funeral Services will be private. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Concordia of Cranberry, attention: Tami Brown, 10 Adams Ridge Blvd., Mars, PA 16046, in memory of Jane Rogers. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, is handling arrangements.
