John B. Ion Jr

John B. Ion Jr., 70, of Erie, passed away, Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Saint Vincent Hospital. He was born July 31, 1952 in Erie, the son of the late John B. Ion, Sr., and Betty Jane Dunham Ion.

John served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and worked at GE for 35 years.

He enjoyed golfing with his brother Bill, camping, and shooting pool.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Linda Spencer Ion; brother, William "Bill" Ion; and sister, Ida Diane Bradney.

He is survived by his two daughters, Robin Ion and Paula Howell; one son, Dan Francis; one sister, Mary Schultz (Rick); one brother, Bradley Ion (Via); and six grandchildren Justin Howell, Kelley Chandley, Jared Carlson, Gage Miller, Samantha Morris, and Justyce Miller. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Monday at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family.
