Joseph T. Sette

Joseph T. Sette, age 70, passed away peacefully following a brief illness on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at LECOM at Presque Isle. He was born on March 25, 1955 in Erie, a son of the late Joseph J. and Mamie (Cacchione) Sette.

Joe was a faithful supporter of the ministries and activities of the Sisters of Saint Joseph. He made a commitment to live as an Associate of the Sisters of Saint Joseph with Sister Susan Herzing acting as his mentor. He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed bird watching in his leisure time. He was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece, Mary Jo Steffes; and his nephew, Thomas "TJ" Scheffner.

Joe is survived by his sister, Giovina Scheffner and her husband, John; his brother, Dominic Sette and his wife, Sandy; his niece, Patty Laskowski and her husband, Rob; and his nephew, Paul Steffes. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 816 West 26th Street, on Saturday, May 17th, at 10 a.m. Inurnment will be private in Calvary Cemetery.
