Kay Francis Whitling Ferrante, 78, of Erie, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Soldiers and Sailors Home where she lived with her husband Alphonso. She was born on April 17, 1938 in Oil City, PA to the late Donald and Mary Alma (Williams) Whitling.

She was preceded in death by a brother Donald Whitling and two sisters Donna Conner and Myrtle Whitling.

Kay retired in 2002 from the Erie School District where she worked as a paraprofessional at Jefferson Elementary School. After retirement she worked for the SERVES Program through the Erie School District helping students and teachers at Perry and Grover Cleveland Schools. Kay was a member of the St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Siebenbuerger Club where she enjoyed bowling and going to card parties. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially during the holidays.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years Alphonso Ferrante; two daughters, Deborah Chizewick (Steve), of Erie; Connie Ferrante of Charleston, VA; two sons, Ritchie Ferrante (Theresa) of Erie and Dominic Ferrante (Sonia) of Lake City, PA. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
