Kay F. Pamula

Kay F. Pamula, age 74, of Erie, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 13, 2022, in the presence of her loving family. She was born July 10, 1948, in Oil City, a daughter of the late John and Dorothy Traughber Nalepa.

Kay was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School Class of 1966 and retired from State Farm.

She was known by all for her infectious cackle and friends of her children and grandchildren knew "Mrs. P" as one of the most caring and kindhearted people. Kay took so much pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren and always put her family first. She could be found in the front row at every child and grandchild's event, cheering her babies on. She was never more than an arm's length from a Werther's and could always go for "something sweet" after dinner. She was a master Scrabble player and often time created her own words (and rules). She took pride in her seasonal decorations and the total transformation of her home for each holiday.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Joanne Lockwood; her brother-in-law, Dr. Felix Simora; and fur-grandchildren, Daisy and Ollie.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Michael F. Pamula; three daughters, Chris F. Holmstrom (Eric), Lisa (Pamula) Andrzejewski (Michael Gordish), and Jill Eichner; her sister, Judy Simora; and five grandchildren, Alex Holmstrom, Lucas Eichner, Andy Holmstrom, McCall Eichner, and Shelby Eichner. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Sunday, July 17th, at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 7:00 p.m., casual dress is encouraged.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association at heart.org on behalf of Kay. After a long battle with Congestive Heart Failure, it was her hope that one day there would be a cure found to lessen the suffering of those battling the disease.

Kay's family would like to thank the staff of Pleasant Ridge Manor, especially the J Unit and Carrie Still, for all their wonderful care and compassion during her final days.

When she reaches the other side, she will likely be found with a Miller Lite in hand, searching the beach for the best piece of beach glass. We wish her an eternity of peace and happiness after a long-fought battle.
