Lawrence N. Raimondi

Lawrence N. "Larry" Raimondi, age 90, passed away at his residence on Monday, January 9, 2023. He was born on August 12, 1932 in Erie, a son of the late Enrico and Angeline DeBello Raimondi.

Larry graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1951 as a multi-sport athlete in Football, Track-& Field and Basketball and attended the University of Cincinnati on a football scholarship. Larry proceeded to join the Air Force and while stationed in Europe proceeded to be named MVP of the armed forces football team while also medaling in numerous track and field events. Larry defeated the German gold gloves champion by KO while a member of the Lyon Boxing team.

Larry was an amazing father and husband whose first priority was to always put the needs of his family ahead of his own. After retiring from Kaiser Aluminum as a foreman, Larry was a very active person who enjoyed working out on a daily basis at Nautilus with his best friends, Gene Placidi and Jim Spencer. Larry and his wife, Bev, often travelled to various exotic destinations to vacation with his son, Larry, and daughter-in-law, Coleen. Wherever Larry was his golf were clubs were not far behind. Larry excelled as a golfer and was a member at Downing Golf Course. Larry was a friend to many and had never ending stories about his golf adventures with Vin Orlando, Joe Daniele, and Anthony Alleruzzo. His pride and joy and love of his life was his granddaughter, Alexandra, who has inherited all of Larry's best characteristics and is striving to match Larry's athletic prowess.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his dearly loved wife of 59 years, Beverly A. Orlando Raimondi; his brothers, Frank, Eugene, Charles, and Ronald Raimondi; and his sister, Louise Raimondi Spanek.

He is survived by his son, Lawrence N. Raimondi, Jr., daughter-in-law Coleen Marritt of Atlanta, GA; his granddaughter, Alexandra Raimondi; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Vincent and Kathy Orlando, of Erie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
