Leroy J. Sabatine

Leroy J. Sabatine, age 92, of Erie, died Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Saint Vincent Health Center after a brief illness. He was born August 23, 1920 in Erie, a son of the late Felix and Albina DiPiero Sabatini. He lived in Erie his entire life.

He served in the United States Air Force during World War II and worked for the City of Erie

He was a member of CYS and the Sunflower Club. He enjoyed gardening, wine making, golfing, fishing and hunting.

In addition his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Felix Sabatine and Paul Sabatine; one brother, Raymond Sabbatini and four sisters, Lillian Quadri, Josephine Kwiatkowski, Anita Ferrara and Adeline Cacchione.

He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Karen D. Larson Sabatine; five daughters, Beverly DiSanti and husband Tony of Mifflinburg, PA, Elizabeth Davis and husband Ted of Edinboro, PA, Albina Cadwallader and husband David of McKean, PA, Roberta and husband Mark Turner of Wattsburg, PA and Melissa Hansen and husband Jeff of Erie; three sons, Leroy V. Sabatine, Alex J. Sabatine and wife Debbie and Doug Erdely and two sisters, Margaret Baldini and Rose Augustine all of Erie. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a Funeral Mass on Thursday at Saint George RC Church, 5145 Peach Street, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
