Le Roy (Leroy) Woodward, age 91, passed away on April 27, 2025 at Pleasant Ridge Manor. He was born on July 7, 1933 in Dagus Mines, PA, a son of the late Joseph and Gladys (Borderocco) Woodward.
Leroy's younger years were spent on a 400-acre farm near Saint Mary's, PA. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War Veteran (1953 - 1955). He was also employed at Marx Toys in Girard, PA. After leaving Marx Toys, Leroy worked as a transport driver for car dealerships, which suited him well as Leroy enjoyed driving.
Out of his love for God and fellow man, Leroy became a Christian and was a long-time member of the Bayview Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Most who know Leroy quickly became aware of his subtle sense of humor. He LOVED going out to eat and was well-known at his regular places. Leroy also had a fondness for animals as he cared for neighborhood stray cats (and occasional skunks...) and usually carried treats to feed to neighbor's dogs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Bellotti; and a brother Joseph Woodward.
Leroy is survived by his sister, Helen Woodward; and also several nieces, nephews, neighbors and many friends.
