Lori A. Benacci

Lori A. Benacci, 72, of Erie, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Saint Mary's at Asbury Ridge. She was born January 29, 1944 in Erie, a daughter of the late Alfred B. And Mary K. Mangin Benacci.

She graduated from Villa Maria Grade School; Class of 1957, Villa Maria Academy; Class of 1961 and Edinboro University; Class of 1971.

She worked at Penn State University Park for 10 years.

She was a member of Saint Jude Faith Sharing Group and Erie Bridge Association since 1989. Lori volunteered at WQLN, Second Harvest Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, and Erie County Library.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother David A. Benacci.

She is survived by her brother, John L. Benacci (Gloria) of Brackettville, TX; two aunts, Jean Flynn (Norbert) and Theresa Benacci (Chester); special cousins, Joseph, Daniel and Carol J. Pillitteri; nephews, John B. Benacci, Matthew C. Benacci, and Michael F. Benacci (Melissa); a niece, Christina M. Benacci; and great-niece, Mary Camille She is also survived by many cousins and her dear friends, John and Caroline Swanson.

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Funeral Mass at Saint Jude the Apostle Church, 2801 West 6th Street, on Friday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be private in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1001 State St. #502, Erie, PA 16501. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, is handling arrangements.
