Louis L. Colecchia passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026 surrounded by his family. Lou was born in Erie, PA on February 27, 1947 to the late Aldemo "Elmer" and Ruth (Woods) Colecchia.
He was a proud graduate of Cathedral Preparatory High School, Class of 1965, where he was an accomplished trumpet player and served as Drum Major of the marching band. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served in the Special Security Group, stationed in Naples, Italy.
After his military service, he attended and graduated from Gannon University, where he studied Accounting. He went on to work as a traveling consultant, a career that allowed him to explore much of the world. Among all his journeys, Italy held a special place in his heart, and he returned there often, treasuring the time he spent there.
Lou is survived by his sisters; Sue Ann Wisniewski (Rich) and Mary Lynn Whitehill (David). He is also survived by his three sons; Matthew, Michael (Lyndsey), Daniel, his daughter, Nicole Schneider (Josh), 7 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, 2122 Raspberry Street, on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 1 p.m. Interment take place at a later date at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Marana, AZ.
