Mae Ferraro

Mae E. Ferraro, age 99, passed away on March 18, 2025 in Franklin, TN. Originally from Erie, PA, she spent many of her later years living near her family in Virginia and Tennessee. Mae was born on May 5, 1925 in Erie, PA, a daughter of the late Angelo (Nick) and Mary Salvatore.

A graduate of Strong Vincent High School, Mae lived in Erie until shortly after she retired from the Catholic Diocese of Erie where she worked for many years. While living in Erie she enjoyed volunteering for the Sisters of St. Joseph Neighborhood Network and other organizations. While living in Leesburg, Virginia she volunteered at Cascades Senior Center.

Mae enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be remembered for her kind, gentle and loving manner. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, playing bingo and reading.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George G. Ferraro; her son, George D. Ferraro; her sisters, Florence Viglione and Catherine Alessi; and her brother, Michael Salvatore.

She is survived by her son, Michael J. Ferraro (Therese) of Murfreesboro, TN; her daughter, Mary Ann Harden (Kelly) of Wentzville, MO; her grandchildren, Jessica Medlin (Cory), Elizabeth Pagnard (Justin), Joshua Dudenhoefer (Kathryn), Nicholas Ferraro (McKenzie Higgins); Joseph Ferraro, Teresa Heck (Ryan), Kathryn Ferraro; her great-grandchildren Annabelle and George Heck, Shelby Medlin, Luca Dudenhoefer; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, 2122 Raspberry St, Erie, on Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1617 Walnut St, Erie. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery directly following the Mass.
