Marguerite "Marge" DelSandro Ruden

Marguerite "Marge" DelSandro Ruden, 85, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Westlake Woods. She was born March 18, 1930 in Erie, the daughter of the late Valdo and Rose DiFilippo DelSandro.

Marguerite was a graduate of Saint Joseph Grade School Class of 1944 and Academy High School Class of 1948. She thoroughly enjoyed her monthly luncheons with her former classmates.

As a talented floral designer, she owned and operated "Del's Flower Shop" in Erie and also worked for many local florists throughout her life.

Her life was filled with many activities including baking, cooking, singing, playing cards, bingo, going to the casino but most importantly, she treasured the time she spent with her family and friends. Also, she was an avid lover of chocolate.

She was the biggest supporter of Marguerite's Academy of Dance and never missed a performance. The front row balcony seat she always occupied will be reserved for her forever.

She is survived by her three loving daughters, Marguerite Timko-Kinney (Craig) of Erie, Valerie Shaffer (Kevin) of Erie, and Kimberly Pontillo (Angelo) of Grapevine, TX; six grandchildren, Jamie and Jeremy Long, Kristen, Kayla and Andrew Shaffer, and Angelo "AJ" Pontillo (Dana); and 2 great-granddaughters, Maliya Long and Avriana Pontillo. She is also survived by her sister, Audrey Reese (Jack); nephews, Rome Caccamo (Katrina), Joey and Dawson Sarvadi; and nieces, Ava Caccamo and Alyssa and Lindsey Sarvadi.

No calling hours will be observed per Marguerite's "Marge's" wishes. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, is handling arrangements.

The family would like to thank the staff at Westlake Woods for their loving care.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
