Michael B. Hickey

Michael B. Hickey, age 82, passed away on May 5th, surrounded by family in Phoenix, AZ. Born and raised in Erie, Mike graduated from Gannon University after serving in the Army. He worked at GE for over 25 years while building a beautiful family and home on the lake in Harborcreek.

Well-read and informed, he connected with people through warmth and respect. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the love he gave, and the memories we will forever hold close.

Mike developed a distinguished management career for over 25 years at GE until the 80's. He found a great opportunity in Ocala, FL working for Martin Marietta. Years later he found an even better opportunity in Phoenix, AZ, where he also had the opportunity to ensure manufacturing quality and standards by traveling to many of Honeywell's aerospace plants across the globe. He took great pride in his work and valued the many relationships he built over his lifetime. A humble and generous mentor, he found great fulfillment in a career for which he remained grateful.

Michael was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn (DeSanti) Hickey and is survived by his son's Kevin, Keith & Paul in addition to a very extended family both by blood and marriage.

Friends and family are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 from 3 p.m. until the time of the funeral service there at 7 p.m. Inurnment will be private in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
