Michele "Michael" DiStefano

Michele "Michael" DiStefano, 84, of Erie, died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at his residence. He was born January 21, 1931 in Forli DelSannio, Italy, a son of the late Carmen and Anna Maria Iarussi DiStefano. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Michael was a member of The Nuova Aurora Club, Manusco Club, and VFW Post #470.

He enjoyed golf, bocce and watching his grandchildren play sports. He also loved to sing and have a good time.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Benito DiStefano and a sister, Vincenzina Antonelli.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sobeya C. Graffe DiStefano of Erie; a daughter, Ana Maria Rodriguez of Greensburg, PA; a son, Michael A. DiStefano (Tammy); one brother, Dr. Berardino "Dino" DiStefano (Jeanne); and cousin, Franco Camillo (Germana) all of Erie. He is also survived by five grandsons, Vincent, Anthony, Nicolas, Marc, and Francisco; close family friend, James E. Whelton, Jr. of Greensburg, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.

In lieu of memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
