Gilda A. Rocco Malinowski

Gilda A. Rocco Malinowski, 80, of Erie, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center after a brief illness. She was born October 31, 1936 in Erie a daughter of the late Frank and Genevieve Riazzi Rocco.

Gilda was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School Class of 1955. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Saint Paul Holy Name Society, and The Rocca Pia Society.

Gilda enjoyed crocheting, cooking, baking, and Wednesday coffee club with her sisters-in-law and nieces.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Belinda and Joseph Qualtiere.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Leonard F. Malinowski, Sr.; one daughter, Sharon Malinowski; three sons, Leonard Malinowski, Jr., Timothy Malinowski (Tracy), and Steven Malinowski; two brothers, Jack Rocco (Norma) and Armand Rocco (Linda) all of Erie; and ten grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great-nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1626 West 26th Street, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
