Nina Thompson

Nina Rose Phillips Thompson, 77, of Erie, passed away, Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at Saint Vincent Hospital. She was born October 17, 1948 in Erie, a daughter of the late Doug and Sandy (DiSalvo) Phillips.

Nina loved watching television and was affectionately known as the "Human TV Guide." She also enjoyed dancing and could spend countless hours talking on the phone with family and friends. Throughout her life, she adored each of her dogs, who brought her so much love and companionship.

Above all, Nina cherished her family. They were her heart, her greatest joy, and the most important part of her life. The love she shared with them will always be remembered and deeply treasured.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Debbie Phillips and her nephew, Michael Smith.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Robert J. "Bob" Thompson; two sons, Carl Ellis (Gregory Tau) and Doug Ellis (Erin); sister, Evelyn Smith; brother, Angelo Phillips (Rhonda); and four grandchildren, Lila and Leo Ellis-Tau and Hunter and Jenna Ellis. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Remmi.

Friends are invited to call on Friday, August 14th, at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry St., from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 7:00 p.m. and may attend a Committal Prayer Service on Saturday, August 15th at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, 3325 W Lake Rd., at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Erie Humane Society, 2407 Zimmerly Rd., Erie, 16506.
