Pamela "Pam" Amey (Morgan) Hurt, 77, of Pittsburgh, former long-time resident of Fairview, PA, passed away peacefully Monday, January 19 2026 at Hemsley House of McCandless after an extended illness. She was born April 17, 1948 in Decatur, GA, daughter of the late Harold and Helen (Rhein) Morgan.
Pamela was a proud graduate of Strong Vincent High School, Class of 1966. Her passion for literature led her to earn a Bachelor's Degree in English Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, followed by a Master's Degree in English Education from Gannon University in 1971. She devoted over three decades to the noble profession of teaching, inspiring countless students in the Wattsburg School District, Villa Maria Academy, Fairview School District, and as an adjunct professor at Mercyhurst University.
A devout Catholic, Pam's faith was a guiding light in her life. She found joy in the simple pleasures, whether it was cultivating her garden, creating beautiful melodies on the piano, or baking her famous perfect pies. Pam had a deep appreciation for the arts, regularly attending theater performances and passionately following her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers.
Pam's greatest love was her family. She cherished her role as a mother and grandmother, celebrating the milestones and everyday moments with unwavering devotion.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two infant babies, Theresa Marie and Kyle Andrew.
She is survived by her three children, Ryan Hurt (Mary), Bridget Hurt, and Douglas Hurt (Brittney); three grandchildren, Mary, Ryan Jr., and Theodore; and her future grandson.
Friends are invited to call on Sunday at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and may attend a service there on Monday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Peace Church, 2401 West 38th Street, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
