Paul A. McLaughlin

Paul A. McLaughlin, 62, of Erie, passed away, unexpectedly, Friday, July 30, 2021. He was born September 25, 1958 in Erie, a son of the late David Leo and Rose Marie LaRiccia McLaughlin.

Paul spent his career working at Hammermill Paper Company from 1980 until it's closing in 2002. And later at Winschel Brothers Landscaping, where he retired in 2020.

Paul loved taking drives, especially if he was driving his corvette or mustang. He could often be found perusing a car show or checking out the horse races. He was always sure to test his luck playing the daily lottery. He enjoyed shopping, particularly at flea markets or auctions, was an avid Cowboys fan and took great pride in his landscaping. Paul enjoyed life and loved to have a good time. This showed through his long-standing membership of the National Club 122, Siebenbuerger Club, Knights of St. George, Knights of St. John, Sunflower Club and many others.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his fiancée Marge Rutkowski; a brother, Joseph McLaughlin, Sr., and a sister, Mary Rose Scarpitti.

He is survived by his two daughters, Emily Hummel (Matt) and Kristy Arnold (Derrick); his four grandchildren, Clayton Hummel, Nathan McCoy, Desiree McCoy and Cayden Balcombe; great-granddaughter, Adriana Salaiz; his significant other, Patti Jurino; two brothers, Michael McLaughlin (Sue) and Steven McLaughlin; two sisters, Patricia Bennett (David) and Shirley Oehler (Joseph); and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the Celebration of Life Service there at 7:00 p.m.
