Rita G. DiMarie Zollner, 83, of Erie, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital following an extended illness.

She was born August 21, 1933 in Erie a daughter of the late Francesco and Grace DiAngelo DiMarie.

Rita was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School and became an LPN and had worked at St. Vincent Hospital for over 30 years. She enjoyed reading, playing bingo, movie classics, dancing and music.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John C. Zollner; three brothers, Anthony, Peter and Frank DiMarie; and two sisters, Marie D. Baldi and Virginia F. Schmidt.

She is survived by one daughter, Jean M. Zollner of Erie; two sons, John R. Zollner and James A. Zollner, both of Erie and four grandchildren, Jackie, John, Jason and Marissa. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street on Tuesday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. and may attend a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
