Bob Teconchuk (Robert J. Teconchuk) 80, of Fairview, passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on Friday, December 12, 2025. He was born May 1, 1945 in Warren, PA, a son of the late William and Katheryn (Hovanic) Teconchuk.
Robert served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. To the day he died, he had the upmost respect for all those who served and are serving.
He worked as a Branch Manager for the Lance Corporation and then was the owner of two Subway Restaurants. He was always known for having the freshest bread and cleanest stores. Many of his customers became his friends and he warmly welcomed all.
Bob enjoyed playing video games and caring for his lawn. He especially liked to vacuum his house and try new cleaning products and as seen on TV gadgets. He looked forward to domino night with his neighbors. Bob loved going to the Cakery after his volunteer shifts at Holy Cross. There wasn't a repair job that Bob didn't think he could fix with alien tape.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Teconchuk.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kathleen A. (Connolly) Teconchuk; three daughters, Amy Yount (Michael- Mike), Julie Scheler (Fred) , and Kimberly Jensen (JR); and two sisters, Nancy Berardi and Kathy Atwood (Bruce).
His grandchildren were his biggest joy and he was beyond proud of each of them. Bob delighted in teaching his grandchildren his name Bob/Bobby and they all knew him as such. He gave nicknames to several of his grandchildren - in parentheses. His eight grandchildren are: Merrikate (Mary) and Finn Jensen, Allison and Peter Scheler, and Aidan (Dan the Man), Kathleen (Kataleena) Lindsay (Lindsay Lou) and Claire (Claire Bear) Yount. Bob often told his grandkids, "Be good and if you can't be good, be bad... Just don't get caught."
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
If you were blessed to know Bob as we did, you knew how special this guy was. He loved jokes, good times, and good conversation/telling stories - True? Not true?!!!
Our deepest thanks to the paramedics who responded - your care, compassion, and professionalism mean more than words. You are angels.
