Robert L. Whitford

Robert "Bob" Whitford, age 75 of Erie, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16th, 2026 at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Bob was the son of the late Robert L. and Helen (Faranzena) Whitford.

He is survived by his wife and best friend Karen (DiLoreto) Whitford and her sons and their families, with whom he had a special bond: Timothy, children: Dominick and Madison Vona; Patrick and Mel, children: Carly and Nick (wife, Caitlyn) Vona; and Brian and Jen, children: Jessica, James and Olivia Vona. Also, daughters Michelle Whitford and Monica Piccirillo and their families and his faithful goldendoodle "Ellie".

Bob was preceded in death by his sister Renee Dennen and granddaughter Gabriella Piccirillo.

In his early career he was employed by the General Motors Automotive Corporation and later in the finance division of many area Automotive Dealerships.

 During his ten year battle with cancer he never lost his sense of humor and will be remembered with smiles and laughter....He will be missed.
