Samuel L. Musica Jr.

Samuel L. "Sammy" Musica, Jr., 72, of McKean passed away Sunday, August 9, 2026 at Saint Vincent Hospital after a brief illness. He was born October 22, 1953 in Erie, a son of the late Samuel L. and Sue (Meschino) Musica.

He grew up on 16th Street in Little Italy and was a graduate of Tech Memorial Class of 1973.

For 48 years, Sammy demonstrated unwavering commitment as a block truck driver at A. Duchini, Inc., until he was able to buy his own rig and became an Independent Driver for the last 22-24 years.

Sammy had a profound love for classic cars, and attended countless Classic Car Shows over the years. An avid bowler, he not only enjoyed the sport but also ran the Calabrese Club bowling alleys.

Known for his infectious spirit, Sammy was truly beloved by those around him, and always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His devotion extended beyond people to his beloved dogs, Bosco, Fritz, Max, Avery, Barlow, and Baily; who brought immeasurable joy to his life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Bonnie (Carrick) Musica; one brother, Michael Meschino; and two sisters, Rosemary Lay and JoAnn Heeter.

He is survived by his twin brother, Vinny Musica (MarySue); two sisters, Janet Hefton and Sandra Roberts (Dean); two sisters-in-law, Christine Terranova (Sam) and Nancy Paulsen (Neil); and two brothers-in-law, David Carrick (Bonnie) and Bobby Heeter. He is also survived by his special niece, Renee Root (Jeff) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Friday, August 14th at First United Methodist Church, 707 Sassafras Street from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, August 15th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 11:00 a.m.
