Sharon Moyer Niebauer, age 69, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026 at UPMC Hamot after battling an extended illness. She was born on November 11, 1956 in Erie, a daughter of the late Robert D. Moyer, Sr. and Virginia (Miller) Moyer.
Sharon was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who cherished her family. She had a passion for writing, particularly horror stories, and enjoyed watching horror movies. Her faith in God was an important part of her life, and she found comfort and strength through prayer. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. Niebauer, Jr.; her son-in-law, Andre Hobson; and her sister-in-law, Robin Moyer.
She is survived by three daughters, Katina Moyer Hobson, Lois Dichter (Todd), and Casandra Batykefer (Craig); her son Richard H. Niebauer, Jr.; two sisters, Barbara Rodriguez (Manuel) and Jenny Moyer; three brothers, Gerald Moyer (Michelle), Mark Moyer (Rebecca), and Michael Moyer; and her grandchildren, Jamyra Marie, Ivy'onna, Kayla, Secret, Temperance, Kelly, Sandra, Craig Jr., Lucas, and Austin. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, 2122 Raspberry Street, on Friday, September 11, from 12 p.m. until the time of the service there at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
