Stella Rogofsky Phillips

Stella (Rogofsky) Phillips, age 93, a resident of Erie, passed away peacefully at home on June 3, 2018. Stella was born on April 8, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY to William and Katherine Rogofsky. She married Raymond A. Phillips of Erie in 1954 and became the loving mother of five children.

Stella is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth (David) Baughman of Waterford, PA, Mary (Michael) Hecht of Irwin, PA, one son Daniel (Denise) Phillips of Panama City, FL, a daughter-in-law Jeanine Phillips of Erie and one step son, David (Gail) Meloni of Santa Ana, CA. She is also survived by grand children Nicole, Daniel II, and Joshua Phillips; Emily Baughman; and Jonathan and Ryan Phillips.

Stella was preceded in death by Raymond, her husband of 53 years. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Phillips; a daughter, Katherine Ann Phillips; and a grandson, Thomas Anthony Phillips.

Stella's interests included reading, cooking, homemaking, and gardening. She also had the unique ability to find high quality items at garage sales and thrift stores that others overlooked! But above everything else, Stella enjoyed spending time with her children and grand children. Stella was also blessed with many caring friends including Joan Milano and Merle Wood II.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Great Lakes Home Healthcare and Hospice.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc. 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and may attend a Service there on Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1626 West 26th Street at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery
