Stephanie DiPlacido

Stephanie DiPlacido, 68, of Erie, died unexpectedly Friday, January 1, 2016 at UPMC Hamot. She was born February 28, 1947 in Erie, the daughter of the late Roy P. "Rocky" and Evelyn M. Stefanelli DiPlacido. She lived in Erie her entire life.

Stephanie was a graduate of Villa Maria Academy and Gannon University. She taught in the Erie School District for 30 years with the majority of her career at Irving School. Stephanie was named Teacher of the Year at Irving School and was well known for her school store "Candylane". She was a past member of the Erie Women's Club.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, David P. DiPlacido.

She is survived by her dear friends who she considered family, David and Marilyn Schaeffer of Erie, Beth DiPaolo and her children, Julia and Dominick "Nico" of Erie, Amy and Don Magee and their children, Braden, Rylie and Olivia of Cary, NC, and Heather Bithell and her children Allyson, Kaylee and Tyler of Erie.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orland Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday evening from 3 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 7 p.m. Entombment will be private in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
