Thomas M. Guarino

Thomas M. Guarino, age 89, of Erie, died Monday, August 12, 2013 at his residence after a brief illness. He was born November 29, 1923 in Jamestown, NY, a son of the late Anthony and Josephine Simone Guarino. He lived in Erie most of his life. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Thomas had worked at GE for over 30 years, retiring in 1986.

He was a member of Saint Paul Holy Name Society and volunteered at the Saint Paul Italian Festival. He was a past member of the Nuova Aurora Club and an avid Yankee fan.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Annunziata "Nancy" Morrocco Guarino, his son, Thomas A. Guarino and a sister, Eleanor Johnson. He is survived by one nephew, Michael L. Morrocco of Erie and one niece, Paula Avione of North East, PA.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of service there at 11 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Saint Paul Church, 1617 Walnut Street, Erie, PA 16502. Thomas's family would like to extend special thanks to his care giver Veronica Hamilton and hospice nurse Mary Pollard.
