Viola M. DiFiori Gasbarro

Viola M. DiFiori Gasbarro, age 96, of Erie, died Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Golden Living Western Reserve. She was born December 4, 1917 in Erie, a daughter of the late Enrico and Filomena Tonti DiFiori.

She had worked at Marx Toys. She was a member of the Montenero Ladies Auxiliary, and the Elks Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband Nicola D. "Nick" Gasbarro, two daughters, Rosalie M. Orlando and Betty L. Gillespie, and a brother Albert DiFiori.

She is survived by one sister, Livia DiFiori, three grandchildren, Sharon M. Holmstrom (Tom), of Erie, Susan Fry (Mike) of Kalamazoo, MI, and Michael Orlando (Heidi) of Pittsburgh, PA; four great-grandchildren, Adam Holmstrom (Diane), James Holmstrom, and Alex and David Fry; and two great-grandchildren, Sarenna Holmstrom and Gerard Holmstrom. Also surviving are nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a Funeral Service on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery.
