Yolanda Violet Ferrante Coletta

Yolanda "Violet" Ferrante Coletta, 92, of North East, PA, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Saint Vincent Hospital .

Violet was born May 29, 1926 in Erie, a daughter of the late Dominick and Assunta Iaboni Ferrante.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Violet wore her heart on her sleeve and left such a loving impression on everyone who met her. She had a priority in life and that was always keeping her family close. She loved her family more than life itself and always gave regardless of how much she had. Violet will always be remembered for her passion to please the ones she loved. Weekly Sunday dinners wouldn't be the same without her homemade spaghetti sauce and those mouthwatering meatballs. She made every holiday special for her children and grandchildren as the table was filled with ethnic Italian foods, and homemade cookies, as the atmosphere around the kitchen table filled with love.

Violet was always there in an emergency as she had no choice but to deliver her 3rd grandson Michael in her home. She turned every experience into a positive outcome and her smile could light up a room. She had worked at Erie Resistor, Marx Toy Company, Bliley Electric and had worked on her grape farm for many years.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Katherine L. Fetzner and Susan V. Coletta; one brother, Armand Ferrante; and two sisters, Angeline Felice and her twin sister, Filomena Stitt.

She is survived by her husband Phillip of 68 years, one daughter, Jeannie M. DeLaura (Robert) of Erie, PA; one son, Vincent P. Coletta (Audrey) of North East, PA; two brothers, Alphonse and Gulio Ferrante, both of Erie; and one sister, Mary Iaboni, of Erie; son-in-law, Richard Fetzner, of Erie; nine grandchildren, Angela, Rick, Phillip, Michael, Breanna, Vanessa, Vincent, Christie and Justin; and eleven great-grandchildren, Dominic, Giovanni, Gianna, Sophia, Sienna, Michael, Anthony, Kamron, Katalina, Lucas and Isla.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
